Hey guys, we've resently restarted the FFN forums. We'll be working to boost activity and build a great, active community. You can navigate to this area of this site via the top menu bar or by the URI below;
Monday is usually a bad day but we have 5 new Crisis Core videos to show. They will be listed in the "Full Story" so all you need to do is click on that to see the videos.
For those not familiar with it, Crisis Core is a prequel to FF7. It will be released exclusively on the PSP. It takes place a couple of years before the original PS game starts and depicts the story of Zack, a SOLDIER member in a struggle with the evil Shinra corporation, who's now an empire.
It should be coming out in 3 weeks, march 25th, in the US.
The 5th japanese trailer for the game Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (previously The Little King and the Promised Land) was released. Remember that the game will come out on WiiWare at the cost of 1500 points. It's estimated that we should get the US version sometime this spring, but it hasn't been announced yet.
As you all know, we've been following the game Crystal Chronicles: The Little King and the Promised Land for a while now. You can see a ton of screenshots in its section. Well, good news. It was officially announced that the game would be released in North America.
The almost-official name will be Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King. Remember it's a game where you play a young king that needs to hire soldiers and units to rebuild his village and give it back its former glory.
No official launch date is set but given that it's a WiiWare game, and that WiiWare America opens on may 12th, it can't be before that.
We will keep you updated with the latest news as they are published.
Quick reminder that Dragon Quest Swords: The Masqued Queen and the Tower of Mirrors is coming out today in North America. I'm picking it up and will try to give a review in a couple days.
For those less familiar, it's a game in which you have to mimic attacks. Basically you swing the controller like you would a sword. It seems pretty interesting and it really shows Nintendo's focus on new types of gameplay.
If you're interested on buying it online, you can do so at Amazon, EBGames or Gamestop. You can also order the game's official soundtrack from Amazon, if you enjoy game music. Here are the links, just click on it and they'll be shipped straight to your house:
Sorry for the lack of update this week, I've been busy. Luckily it's pretty quiet aside from some Little King and the Promised Land infos. We've gotten new screenshots as well as some new artwork. Safe to say we're the #1 provider of Little King informations.
In other news, Square Enix has launched a new website for the game Final Fantasy XI. If you play the game, go look at it by clicking on Final Fantasy XI. It's a pretty neat website, even though it doesn't have as much information as the PlayOnline one.
You can view all of the Young King screenshots in high resolution by visiting our Little King screenshots page. Here are 2 samples:
The second trailer for the game The Little King and the Promised Land was released by Square Enix. You can view it in this post.
I'd just like to mention that unlike some other Final Fantasy website, we cover this game actively. You can see over 50 screenshots from the game in its section.
For those who would have forgotten, The Little King and the Promised Land is a management game in which you will have to regain your village's glory through your leadership and the multiple jobs of the soldiers you can recruit. Announced released date is march for Japan, on WiiWare, for 1500 points.
This a short news week. Only news coming out is that Dragon Quest IX is almost done but they aren't rushing out the release.
Yoichi Wada, Square Enix' president, said that development of Dragon Quest IX is mostly completed but they want to test it extensively. They want to make sure the balance is just right because the game will have a multi-player mode.
Some websites mistakenly exploded in rumors about Final Fantasy 13 coming out in 2008. The Final Fantasy community is notoriously excitable. Please don't believe what's written unless we confirm it.
As usual, we will keep you updated with all the latest confirmed news.
Here is the official denial message written by the game's management team:
"Although information regarding the release date of Final Fantasy XIII has been reported by certain video game websites, Square Enix itself has yet to make an official statement on this topic," reads the post.
"Any reports of a confirmed release date are erroneous and should be disregarded. Square Enix will make an official announcement in the future concerning the release date when it has been determined."
Just a small update to let you know that, in my quest to get this website back on track, I've fixed lots of links to the MP3s. I still have to go over half of them, but half is fixed. This includes popular ones like the FF12 sountrack as well as FF Tactics.
One step at a time the website is coming back together. Thanks for your patience and thanks for your emails. If you notice something that needs fixed, if you want to report something, if you have content to send us, contact us. You can do so by clicking on the Contact link in the upper menu bar.
Insane content update.. FF13, Versus, Little King, Dragon Quest etc
Greetings all, It's tuesday and this update is monstrous in size and quantity. It covers just about every game coming out in the near future.
Let's kick it off with FF XIII and FF XIII: Versus Screenshots. The folks at The Magic Box found some screenshots. Some of these are high quality versions of the scans we've posted last week. The Versus screeenshots show pretty much every characters in the game.
You think that's it? No way. We just added over 25 new screenshots and artwork of FF Crystal Chronicles: The Little King and the Promised Land. You can view them in the game's section.
As usual, here are some samples! While wacky, this game looks very fun.
We follow up with a FF12: Revenant Wings news piece. They just opened the European website. It contains the usual: launch date, wallpapers, trailers etc. You can visit the website by clicking here.
Finally, why not go wild with videos? Here are 3 gameplay videos that were posted on a french gaming website:
Not much going on news wise. We managed to find a new video of FFCC: Ring of Fates on a french website. It shows in-game action. Enjoy it until the news FF13 scans come out in a few days.
